Description
This mid-century signed Swedish rug has a field with shaded terracotta, chocolate-brown, sandy-brown and light burgundy-red stepped and linked lozenges outlined with a yellow stripe, horizontal rows of tiny ivory and black checkerboard stripes, in a border of ivory, sandy-brown, shaded terracotta and chocolate-brown similar stepped part lozenges with a bold sandy-yellow narrow stripe issuing from a chocolate-brown hooked motif, at each end a broad band of ivory, chocolate-brown and sandy-brown part-stepped lozenges outlined in a sandy-yellow line with polychrome tiny square motifs in the centre of each part-lozenge, initialed MMF (Märta Måås-Fjetterström) in the lower left corner.
