A vintage Persian Malayer rug. You can have the Herati design complex or strip down to its essentials, as here, with only fringed diamonds and L-bent leaves, set within beige corners and the beige main border with a mostly straight floriated meander. The pattern of the main border is suitably quirky. The abrashed minor border with fan palmettes is the major color accent here.
