Description
Looking at this lovely vintage one right away realizes the immense power of Scandinavian design. The combination of three crucial factors – practicality, simplicity and beauty – allowed this vintage rug to survive until this day with no signs of wear and a design that will never go out of fashion. The main field, adorned with seven octagons with inner spots of color and surrounded by flower-like geometric motifs, is enclosed within a simple border with beveled edges, and finished with a charming fringe at the shorter sides of the antique rug which underlines the folk aura of the composition. The delicate and versatile color palette relies on subtle beaver brown and chamoisee with off-white, complemented by invigorating touches of pastel blue, dusty pink and moss green. Next to enchanting appearance, the vintage Swedish flat-weave is distinguished by impeccable execution. Masterfully hand-woven of the finest wool in accordance with traditional techniques, the area rug is durable, and if properly maintained, it will serve its owners for many years. Such timeless floor covering will be ideal for a wide variety of interior décors, bringing in the warmth and artistry of Scandinavian aesthetic thought.
