A vintage Turkish Anatolian rug. Five columns of ivory “Lesghi” stars make a figure-ground flip to create a brown rectangle pattern on this borderless rural rug. Looks Caucasian, but more likely Turkish, but attractive in any case, and certainly uncommon as both a rug and as a design concept.
