Misty and mysterious, a seemingly geometric design but depicting a landscape, this is a painterly Gabbeh woven by Ghashgha'i nomadic weavers using the finest highland wool dyed with natural vegetable dyes extracted from plants in the Zagros Mountains region of Iran. The interpretation of a landscape in rain is stunning... an abstract water meadow – water, a source of life for the nomadic tribeswomen that wove this Gabbeh with such a wonderful sense of perspective – the design sings and transports one into nature.
