ANTIQUE STAGE COACH DOOR PANEL FROM TEXAS

$ 2,995
  • Description
    * PLEASE NOTE THE PHOTO WITH THE RED STAGECOACH, IT SHOWS THE OUTSIDE DOOR PANEL AS THIS FLAG DOOR PANEL WOULD HAVE BEEN.

    AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE STAGE COACH DOOR FOUND IN TEXAS FROM A RANCHER IN 1999. I HAVE OWNED IT EVER SINCE. WE FRAMED IT AT THAT TIME TO PROTECT IT. MUSEUM CONSERVATION FRAMING WITH UV ACRYLIC. THE STAGE COACH BUSINESS DIED AROUND 1900 MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW IT LASTED THAT LONG. BUT IN VERY RURAL AREAS LIKE WEST TEXEAS THEY WERE USED. THE OBSOLETE STAGE COACHES WERE SCRAPPED FOR WHATEVER PARTS COULD BE USED FOR SOMETHING ELSE. THE DOOR IS SO INTERESTING AND GOOD LOOKING IT WAS SAVED. THIS IS THE WOOD PART OF THE DOOR, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN A FRAME WITH A HINGE SO IT COULD OPEN AND CLOSE. THIS IS THE INSERT OF THE FRONT OF THE DOOR. THE BACK SIDE PANEL WAS THROWN OUT. NEVERTHELESS THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE WESTERN/ TEXAS RELIC OF THE COWBOY DAYS OF DAYS PAST. THE DOOR PANEL IS 15"X24" NOW THE COOL PART OF THE DOOR IS THE FACT THAT IT HAS A WAVY 45 STAR FLAG ON IT. THE 45 STAR FLAG WAS USED IN 1896.
