    Brussels, 18th century

This tapestry from the eighteenth century representing the wedding of Psyché. It’s imposing horizontal format allows us to appreciate the subject of a banquet with numerous characters involved.

The originality of this piece is that the artist has chosen to give importance to the feast and arts illustrated in the foreground. Musicians, poets and singers celebrate the marriage of Cupid and Psyché. The banquet takes place in the background, where Cupid and Psyche are sitting among their guests, and the two lovers are kissing.
