Woven in wools, depicting the pastoral romance of 'Astree and Celadon', Les Amours d'Astrée et de Céladon by Honoré d'Urfé.
Cited as one of the most influential works of the 17th century, it is the story of the romance between a shepherd (Celadon) and shepherdess (Astrée) and their misadventures.
In good condition, with a single plain border and backed in linen.
