Description | An ornate, large Japanese Imari ware bowl measuring 51cm across. With simple painting with a large floral motif in the centre surrounded by depictions of Peonis, foliage and blossom. The reverse with further painting of blossom. Decorated in typical Imari ware colours of rich blue, gold and burnt orange. Two cloud shaped panels at the side of the bowl with gold painted Lion dogs.
