A fine Viennese silver gilt and enamel tortoise turtle box, by Hermann Bohm, circa 1890. The head, feet, and tail in multicolored enamels. The lid of the box with a silver and enamel finial of Pan the God of the wild playing the pipes. The Top and base painted with love scenes from Greek mythology. When opened, even more scenes from the cupid and Psyche tale. Spectacular gilded scroll work frames the scenes over a pale lilac base. Hallmarked throughout. Measures: 5" high x 8.3" wide x 4.2" deep. Very good condition. No repairs.
