Kors - Kyser Betrothal Teabowls. Pennsylvania Dutch Market Creamware

$ 1,285
  • Description
    This fine pair of Staffordshire lead-glazed soft paste creamware teabowls are hand-painted in enamel colors with sprigs of roses, cherries, cornucopias, oranges, and apples around the names of Betram Kors and Zusanna Kyser over the date 1807. They commemorate the engagement to marry of Betram and Zusanna. They were made in England expressly for the fashionable Pennsylvania Dutch taste.

    The condition is typical of this type of antique cream-colored earthenware, as there is a small chipped area on the inside of the foot rim of one, which is shown in the photographs; otherwise the teabowls are in very good condition with only vey light wear.
