    Archaic Period, circa 800-771 BC, Western Zhou Dynasty

    The wide shallow form of this footed bowl is raised on a high foot incised on the base with a repeating diamond pattern. The rim is mounted on either side with animal masks and loose ring handles incised with a geometric pattern. The bronze has a brown patina with areas of green encrustation.
