Description
Lime green colored favrile art glass fruit bowl made by Tiffany Studios, circa 1910; marked on the underneath "Tiffany Registered Trademark Favrile Glass" (see image). It is in very good and all original condition and color with no chips. The color is fabulous and changes readily and pleasantly with the light; this is a result of the famous iridescent nature of the glass which was developed in the 1890's by Arthur J. Nash who worked with Louis Comfort at Tiffany's, and eventually owned a portion of the company in the 1920's.
The clear and smooth circular glass bowl is embellished with a pronounced opaque lip around the circumference; with the bowl resting on a small raised 1 3/4" round base.
Dimensions: 5" diameter at the top x 2" high
Provenance: Recently acquired from an upscale San Francisco estate -
