Pair of French Faience Tureens, Early 19th Century
-
Description
This is a superb pair of French Faience tureens with under plates. The rich green and scarlet tones of the painted surface combined with the form of the figure holding a chinoiserie parasol indicate an Empire period attribution. Both tureens are in overall very good condition with no noted faults or restorations. There is the normal and anticipated craquelure acquired over years of use. To find a matched pair in this condition is highly unusual.
