    CRYSTAL BLING BOWL 11

In the beginning, there was a great empty void surrounded by two realms: fire and ice. When the two touched, a giant was formed, and as the ice melted, the great gods of Norse mythology were born. Studio Greytak celebrates this epic creation story with Crystal Bling Bowl 11. The meeting of fiery pyrite and ice-blue quartz is just as dramatic as they perform their glittery dance over a seamless bowl of translucent rock crystal, one of the most powerful stones on Earth.

The stone of the diplomat, blue quartz calms and relaxes in any situation. Healers use it to clear energy blockages and boost the immune system. Like the rock crystal it balances on below, blue quartz carries the energy of the master healer. Formed millions of years ago under extreme geologic pressure, quartz crystals often grow together in clusters. The beautiful blue in this piece most likely comes from inclusions of other minerals like dumortierite or tourmaline but some believe it is a result of light scattering called the Tyndall effect. Either way, it makes for one of the world’s most beautiful minerals with the beguiling power of harmony and balance.

Taking its name from the Greek pyrites, meaning “of fire,” pyrite sparks when struck against metal or stone. Indigenous people of the American Southwest used polished pyrite slices as mirrors, and it was a precursor to flint and steel on the European continent. With a color ranging from brassy to golden, and a metallic luster, the mineral is nicknamed “fool’s gold.” Composed of iron and sulfur, pyrite is fairly common and is found in all rock types. Once considered magic by the residents of Navajún, pyrite increases vitality, enhances willpower, and aids in overcoming fear and anxiety. A creative stimulant, it feeds the qualities of ambition, commitment, and persistence.

Long before Earth existed, fiery blasts of hydrogen and helium created bright stars. Over hundreds of millennia, as the gases were depleted, the stars died in powerful explosions that seeded the universe with new, solid, metallic elements that would become the building blocks of planets. The largest of the explosions, called supernovae, created gold, but the smaller stars produced the element we know as silver.

Silver is one of the seven “metals of antiquity”—the metals known and mined by the earliest humans. So early, in fact, that their discovery pre-dates recorded history. As far back as 3000 BC, silver mines existed in Turkey and Greece. Silver has been prized by humans throughout history for its beauty and its usefulness. A silver bullet, aside from being a tool to kill werewolves, refers to any simple but highly effective solution. Silver is said to foster patience and perseverance, and it acts as a mirror to the soul.

The Navajo people believed that rock crystal caused the sun to cast its light upon the world. Clear and colorless, it is considered a light-stone—the intermediary between the visible and? invisible worlds. A powerful form of quartz, rock crystal has been used for centuries in crystal balls to foretell the future.

Place this piece in a well-lit room to bring inspiration and inspire new and dramatic creations grounded in a sense of overwhelming calm.
