Description Unusual Whieldon-type Tortoiseshell Ground Pearlware Plate
Circa 1770

The circular-shaped pearlware plate is decorated with a series of bands of dabbed coloring. The rim with a mottled blue band and a green band below. The whole center with a tortoiseshell ground with a green band encircling the central well.
