William IV Sampler dated 1832, by Ann Head. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, mainly in cross stitch. Geometric border. Colours blue, gold, silver, green and pink. Signed and dated 'Ann Head June 1st 1832'. A scattering of motifs, including potted flowering plants, birds, fruit baskets and flowers. Framed in an old gilt over wood frame with glass. Mounting: The sampler is stitched to fabric. Frame backed with card and sealed with tape.. Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.

Origin: England Period: 19th Century Condition: Good. A few holes, which are well masked by the fabric backing. A few pale patchy stains at the top, barely visible. Stain in bottom left hand corner. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong. Stretching is slightly uneven.
