17th century boxers sampler. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Alphabets A-Z in upper case. No signature or date. Wonderful examples of a boxer and floral band motif. This sampler is unusual in it's small size. Usually samplers of this period are long, narrow, band samplers. Framed in an old wood frame with glass. Loose mounted onto card. (Dimensions exclude frame).

Condition:	Good. Very Good. No holes. No staining. No stitch losses, just a couple of loose threads. Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven. Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
