Description An English late 17th, early 18th century Mortlake tapestry depicting the Three Graces and Hermes in an idyllic Italianate setting with ruins and castle in the background. The Graces represent the essence of beauty, charm, and grace and were associated with the Nine Muses, who presided and inspired arts and sciences. Hermes represents fertility and a messenger god. The border with the flag of England, white shield with red cross of St. George.
