Description
ex: Chris Selser; Private Collection
This Acoma jar is particularly beautiful, with a very strong geometric design alternating with a vertical band that has a 4th color meander in it. It has survived the years in excellent condition. Historic jars that have four colors are particularly desired.
The pot has a unified all-over design. The shape of the jar, the use of hachure and capped spirals as well as the use of strong reds, black and orange all help define the jar as having been made from the late 19th-early 20th centuries. -
