Native American carved loop handle splint ash basket (1900-1920)

Description
Native American splint ash basket with carved and bent fixed loop handle which has been flattened at the apex. The rim of the basket is comprised of two 3/8" splints which capture the 1" ash spline woven from either side of the rim. The upper rim is interwoven with a 3/8" ash spline over a 1" spline, reverting to 3/8" inch spline to lower the sides of the basket. Fine original condition.
Native American, Winnebago / Ho Chunk, circa 1900.
Condition: Fine original condition. Wear commensurate with age and use.
