19th Century Oil Painting on Canvas Italian Olive Grove Landscape, Signed
-
Description
We present this fantastic oil painting on canvas from the second half of the 19th century. The painting features the signature F. Lojacono on the bottom left (see photo). Attributable to the Italian landscape painter Francesco Lojacono (Palermo, 26 May 1838 – Palermo, 26 February 1915), painted without authentication.
This is a painting of great artistic quality, the sensitivity of a 19th century painter towards the representation of landscapes is clearly visible. The painter represents a landscape that is typical to admire in southern Italy, an olive grove. The beautiful olive trees, probably centuries old, present in the foreground capture the attention with their majestic trunks. The application of the color is extremely material, probably with the painter's will to give volume to these imposing ancient olive trees that seem real.
the work is accompanied by a beautiful wooden frame of recent manufacture not contemporary with the painting.
If you are fascinated by typical Italian landscapes, this painting is a perfect addition to your collection.
