$ 775
  • Description
    This beautiful hand-colored engraving and etching entitled "A View of the Royal Palace of Windsor, Vue du Palais Royal de Windsor a vingt un miles de Londres" is by Nathaniel Parr (1730-1769) after a painting by P. Brookes. It was published in London by Laurie and Whittle in 1794. It depicts a serene view of Windsor Palace from across the river Thames. There are boats on the water, a man with a fishing pole and two ladies and a couple on the bank in the foreground, people walking and a man herding cows on the far bank in front of the palace and two swans in the river on the left.

    This hand-colored print is presented in an antiqued silver frame with a light peach-colored French mat highlighted by tan and gold bands. The frame measures 18" x 23.13" x 0.75". The print is in excellent condition. The frame has some minor edge dings, but is otherwise in very good condition.
