Description Oil on board, 1961, signed 'G.A. Warshawsky', titled "Budaah and The Dancing Girl" and dated on the reverse. 10 1/8 x 8 1/8 in.

Although Warshawsky spelled Buddha wrong one can still get the idea. The story of Buddha and the dancer is a very famous one.

George Abel Warshawsky was born in Sharon, PA and studied at the Cleveland Art Insitute before moving to Paris to study at the Academie Julian. Known primarily as a landscape and portrait painter, he won the prestigious Chevalier of the Legion of Honor award in France. He moved back to the States and settled in Monterey, CA, where he painted this work a year before his death in 1962.
