Description
Attilio Carreri 1918 - 1990
"Tempo Composto N. 23", abstract, framed oil on Canvas, Italy, 1974.
Attilio Carreri, after a start attentive to cubo-futurist problems, during which he pursued a sort of shattering of the seen and an accurate analysis of the dynamism of color across the light spectrum, turned, with notable success, to constructivist abstractionism .
Attentive to the structural phenomenologies of space, he engaged in the neo-formal debate of the early Sixties.
He was among the founders of the “Tempo 3” group (1963).
In 1964 he received important recognition at the Silvestro Lega prize in Modigliana.
Regarding the infrequent exhibition activity, the following exhibitions are worth mentioning: Galleria XXI Marzo, Venice, 1964; Gall. La Polena, Genoa, 1964; Electronic music – Visual art, Florence, 1964; Gall. Il Chiodo, Palermo, 1965; New visual research in Italy, Gall. Milan, Milan, 1966; Gall. Rotta, Genoa, 1974; Ligurian painting in Germany, Goethe Institut, Genoa, 1977; Abstractionism in Italy in the Cernuschi Ghiringhelli collection, Villa Croce Museum, Genoa, 1985. -
