Original antique patriotic art filled with symbolism from the famous Mastai Collection
Rare most likely a one of a kind hand made patriotic textile. Featuring a Eagle in a horn of plenty with a Federal Shield with 17 Stars. Usually in items like this the 17 stars could very well be an indication of the items age. !7 Star would be the 17th State Ohio in 1803. This item doe does show age throughout so its possible its from that era.

The Eagle which symbolizes The United States is flying over the horn of plenty protecting it. Very symbolic - “horn of plenty” first came to symbolize prosperity, wealth, and abundance, which symbolizes The United States. Also shows a Federal Shield which depicts protection. Its all Hand painted. Appears like the cornucopia is a boat on the sea. As the blue edge trim is shaped like waves. Overall, it’s very cool and symbolic. The material it’s on appears to be like a thick rice paper. There are 17 stars on the Shield which probably represents 17 states at the time of creation which would be Ohio in 1803. It does seem like it certainly could be that old. Shows lots of age.

Some wear to edges and the paint this only adds to its unique character.

Great piece of Americana

There is the red stamp from Mastai collection which he stamped on all his items.
Writing on top left corner which I can’t made out.

For those of you who do not know about the Masti collection buy their book, it will amaze you. They were the premier collectors of Great Americana and antique flags for many years.
