Description
A rare painting from Edward Melcarth's earliest years that he spent studying in Europe at the influential Atelier 17 in Paris. The influence of Stanley Hayter clearly visible in the artist's use of mingling colors. It appears that Melcarth had a fascination with the Renaissance and Italy, where he spent the last years of his life with friend and client, Peggy Guggenheim.
