    A fine classical relief depicting autumn from Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen's Stages of Man. The works by the sculptor were based on an interpretation of the poem Of 'The Four Ages of Man' written by 17th century author Anne Bradstreet. The bisque sculpture was executed by P. Ipsen in Copenhagen and is marked on the reverse where there is also a dedication to an early owner, Denmark, circa 1890.
