Description The lotus is a symbol of purity in Buddhism. It takes root in the mud and grows through the murky water to emerge radiant and pristine. Each phase of its life—from bud to blossom---represents the stages of enlightenment. A traditional motif seen throughout Thai culture, these beautiful flowers decorate temples, shrines, palaces and homes. This three-dimensional wall sculpture features two types of hand-carved teak wood lotus blossoms; the larger having a weathered grey finish while the smaller ones having gold leaf centres surrounded by black or red lacquer. Mounted at various depths, the stunning array of flowers undulates across the surface of the black background. This collection was made in our in-house workshop and is one-of-a-kind.
