Presenting a gorgeous pair of early 20C Italian oil on board landscapes by Nesi.
Circa 1920-30 and in their original frames.
Each depicts a Northern Italian scene. Florentine School. with lakes, rivers, trees and mountains with villages in the distance/background. Most likely scenes from Tuscany.
The original frames are gilt wood frames with lovely detail. The back of each frames is covered in wine/red colored silk and each bears a label that reads : ” No. 1448. Original Florentine Oil Painting. Exclusively styled and framed for Ellison’s by Marad Wall Decor Corp.”
Ellison’s was a famous Department Store in Fort Worth, TX from 1882 – 1992.
Both paintings are signed by the Artist “Nesi” one is signed G.V. Nesi and the other G. Nesi.
Provenance: From a High-End Fort Worth Estate. Home built circa 1920-30. -
