Description
This stunning abstract watercolor was realized in the United States circa 1960. The work represents a fantastic hybrid between figurative and abstract painting realized in a style suggestive of both Francis Picabia and Wassily Kandinsky. The piece includes recognizable elements including kites, a yellow daffodil (complete with its bulb and root system) in the center of the composition, a white rectangular plane (resembling a canvas), as well as abstract details such as swirls and amorphic forms. Realized in tones of antique rose, muted turquoise and lilac, this piece has a refined palate that would be a winning addition in any interior. The work comes presented in a sculptural custom white gilt frame. Excellent condition. Signed "Leslie" in the bottom right hand corner.
American, circa 1965
