Description Oil on canvas, vinyl and vintage cue balls, 2019. An autobiographical piece portraying St.Sebastian tied up in darkness, mirrored by "the light," a lit perspective of the Chicago Federal Building by Mies van der Rohe. There is a small verdure tapestry symbolizing the healing power of nature, circles mimicking the cycles of life we go through in order to let go of things in the past and grow towards a brighter future.

Alexis Zambrano’s work investigates the different dimensions of our existence, physical planes versus the cosmic and spiritual; The conscious vs unconscious. Through his practice he references the works of old masters, architecture, contemporary art and nature; analyzing their purpose and evolution, these materialize through drawing, painting and sculpture in juxtaposed and altered settings. Originally Monterrey Mexico, Zambrano lives and works in New York since 2008.
