Description This dramatic still life painting depicts a basket of Royal Ann cherries spilling onto a marble table top, in exacting detail, including the reflections of the cherries. It is signed A. Snyder and dates from the late 19th century. It is presented in a period gold frame, with overall measurements of 19.5" wide x 14.5" high.

Annie Snyder was born in Salona, Pennsylvania, in 1852. She was self taught until studying in Philadelphia under the German instructor Emil Kett. She returned to Salona and eventually moved to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, where she had a home studio. She died in Lock Haven in 1927.

Annie Snyder is known primarily for still lifes, particularly of fruit and nuts, but also produced landscapes and portraits.
