Reflets d'Automne - Autumn Reflections - Perls Galleries
-
Description
Amid a flurry of abstract experimentation in France in 1930, Reflets d'Automne reflects a lot of that sentiment. And makes this is a special and deceptively complex work by Bombois . It functions not only as a naïve work but as an abstract work. Trees that look like ice cream cones are mirrored in the water. Reverberating horizontal streaks of light that rest on the surface of the black water play off of the highlights hitting the tree branches. Meanwhile, tiny humans figures on the bridge and their reflections echo the ovoid tree shapes. A flock of birds in flight punctuate the composition.
