Beautiful oil on canvas painting by the French artist, Charles Vignon. Signed lower right.. The painting depicts the iconic Madeleine in the background with a bustling Parisian street scene at twilight. Circa 1940 Condition is very good. Several spots of light craquelure in sky top right quadrant and in the building far left top quadrant. The painting is housed in its original period frame of carved wood with a distressed painted and gilt finish. Overall framed measurements are 17.25 by 20.5 inches. Provenance: Larchmont, New York estate.
