Description
Throughout all eras of history, the unique climate, topography, and geological formations found in the desert have attracted hikers, adventurers, and soul searchers seeking solitude and a strong connection to nature. Today we present a painting by Edward Harold Hammerberg, a sweeping, panoramic view that focuses on the “Arroyo Seco”, translated as the “Dry Stream”, and the canyon that was carved by the flowing water. His style in this work leans toward modernism, utilizing large, flat planes of muted earth tones and simplified shapes.
