Condition Good. The paintings are unsigned, which is common in early paintings. Condition is good, considering the age of about 400 years. There is some in-painting. The panels have a few cracks. The frames are from the period.

Description Provenance:
From the estate of Henry Alexander Count of Salm-Hoogstraeten. Count of Salm-Hoogstraeten belonged to one of the Great Families amongst whom were Vanderbilt, Morgan, Harriman, Juillard, Post and Astor etc. His baronial mansion domineered Tuxedo Park, New York. His collections, in the stately home, consisted of countless treasures.
Description:
These architectural genre paintings are of French origin. They are painted in oil on wood panels and cradled on the back. The subject of one painting is a party scene in a courtyard. The other pictures a fond farewell scene. Colorful costumes, fashionable attire and architectural details are full of life and add interest that inspires close study of these masterpieces. The characters are charming and have unique and meticulously painted details. As these were painted circa 1620, it is almost incomprehensible that this pair of has remained together.

The paintings are unsigned, which is common in early paintings. Condition is good, considering the age of about 400 years. The cradles are added later. There is some in-painting. The panels have a few cracks. The frames are from the period.
