Description
Old Cornish folklore tell of maidens who kept the water clean for travellers to drink as they were passing through on their journeys and this figure is the keeper of one of those places. It is an abstracted figure whose significance is made through being the focal point of the composition and an appearance of gold and umber colours. The figure rests within the landscape of flowers and water in the background.

Francesca Owen is an award winning artist who trained at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art in London and completed an MA at Falmouth University.
Francesca has worked with both UK and International galleries, exhibiting paintings and installation, giving talks and courses on landscape painting, pigments and dyes.
Francesca has exhibited work in SE Asia, London, Devon and Cornwall.
