In France he was awarded the Legion d'Honneur.
He moved to Hollywood, where he became a set decorator for the movie industry. He later became a prolific director in movie industry and bought a large mansion in Beverly Hills ( I know the house and the person who bought his entire inventory of remaining paintings not already on the market).
