Description An oil-on-canvas portrait of Dolly Sloan, circa 1915, attributed to her husband John French Sloan (1871-1951). Sloan is considered the founder of the Ashcan School and a member of the artist group “The Eight”. His works are in the permanent collection of many prestigious museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Dolly Sloan was a noted member of the Suffragette Movement. Painting is restored in a contemporary frame. Canvas size is 10” x 12”.
