Description Over 7 feet tall and 20 feet wide, this colorful acrylic on canvas abstract expressionist painting is by Mexican-born Juan Carlos Macias, who resides in Chicago. Photographs do not do justice to this early work by Macias. Each 88" H x 80" W canvas is stretched over an internal wood frame. The sides are painted black. Measures: 88" H x 240" W. Maci´as was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco - Mexico in 1961.

Juan Carlos Macías is a painter and engraver. He studied Architecture and Plastic Arts at the University of Guadalajara. He studied Engraving and Lithography at the School of Arts at Los Angeles Valley College, in California. He has participated in projects with Henry Klein, Efram Wolff, Jack Farley, Oldrich Hulhanek among others. He has taught drawing courses, and recorded at The Cabañas Institute of Guadalajara; Chicago Park District and Gallery 37 in Chicago; and La Source in France. He is the founder of El Perro Parado workshop and co-founder of La Torre de los Grillos. He has exhibited individually and collectively in various galleries and museums in Mexico, the United States, France, Argentina, Costa Rica, Brazil, Korea and Morocco. He has won national and international awards and recognitions such as "The Students Awards at The Valley College", "Omnilife Award", "The Guadalupe Posada Award", scholarships for "The Harpo Foundation", "The Illinois Art Council", "The Chicago Public Art Program "," Maya Romanoff Philanthropy "and" La Source ".

Juan Carlos Macías has lived and worked in Mexico, the United States, France, Germany and Morocco. He has public works in Chicago Illinois and in Chennebrun France.
