Description
A handsome and fit young man with an introspective gaze is depicted in a Speedo Bathing suit as he sits against a tropical lake. The work is unframed and in fair to poor condition but has soul and sex appeal to it. Signed lower right.
Louise Schacht was born on September 13, 1908 in New York City. The artist's parents were violinists. Her father, also a lawyer and art dealer, ran Schacht Galleries on 23 East 64 Street, Manhattan, New York City
In 1928 Schacht studied painting under Arthur W. Woelfe (1873-1936), and, in 1929 she worked with George Elmer Browne (1871-1946). She was also a student of Charles Hawthorne (1872-1946). -
