Description
Title of Painting "Squall on the Tree Line", oil on canvas, signed lower right, this painting measures 24” high x 36” wide. The curved gold leaf frame beautifully accentuates the subject matter. The scene is of two cowboys dealing with an impending storm, reminiscent of scenery in Nevada to Montana. Canvas is in excellent condition and there is no overpaint or restoration. Typical Western scene capturing cowboy Americana.
The artist, Newman Myrah (1921-2010) is best known for his western scene paintings, especially of horses and cowboys. With a studio in Oregon, and having been raised in Montana he was no stranger to that environment; Charles Russell being one of his early influences. -
