Description
An oil on canvas titled " La Modele"
Provenance: Galerie Juarez, Los Angeles Ca. ( label verso)
Born in the Northern area of Saint Quentin, Aisne, France. He studied at the Paris National Art Academy in 1945. He studied with Brasilier, Cathelin, Genis, Ba Dong under the French elder painting Brianchon. Guiramand received an award in Rome in 1952 and was noticed at a Paris School Exhibition in 1956. In 1957, he received a Marlborough Award at the Manhattan Biennial Exhibition. He began holding exhibitions in 1962 at Geneva, Chicago, Paris, Japan and several other locations in the world. Guiramand's style is reserved yet bold filled with lively lines resembling thoughts intertwining on canvas with intricate organizations. He excels in vibrant colors on simple backgrounds presenting a powerful emotion. With precise balance on the structure of painting along with a surreal space allowing the audience to create unlimited imaginations; he has been praised as one of the representatives of contemporary figurative color figures and his art pieces are collected by several famous museums. - More Information
