Description
Oil on canvas painting by the French artist, Robert Albert Genicot. Signed lower left. Condition: Very good. Provenance: Findlay Gallery, Chicago. Overall framed in original carved wood painted frame with wear 30 3/8 x 27 1/8 inches.
Genicot was a pupil of Ernest Laurent and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris and received a silver medal in 1925. He was awarded the Moroccan Prize in 1927. He won a gold medal in 1937 at the International Exhibition. He also exhibited at the Salon of the Colonial Society of French Artists. Genicot was well known for his views of Morocco. - More Information
