Romano Campagnoli "Untitled (Still Life)" Circa 1950
-
Description
This refined and sophisticated still life painting was realized in Italy, circa 1950, by the esteemed Italian artist Romano Campagnoli. Executed in oil paint on canvas, the still life composition features a kerosene lamp, pitcher and loaf of bread on a table. Combining figurative subject matter with hard edged abstraction, this piece represents a modernist interpretation the traditional still life. The painting was created with a palette knife in a sophisticated earthy palette of slate and pebble grays, taupes and khakis. Simultaneously organic and geometric, this painting would be a beautiful addition to any interior. This piece represents an excellent opportunity for a collector or art enthusiast to acquire a first class work by an unheralded great of the mid 20th century. It is inscribed on the back "Campagnoli 17 Rue de Honore." Excellent condition.
