  • Description
Artist's Statement: "I thought I would try my hand at painting a traditional still life. Grabbing my copies of "Grimm's Popular Tales" and "Aesop's Fables," I began composing the set up. One hour of experimenting with various objects resulted in a richly colored texture study.
A bowl of eggs rests atop the old books with broken shells lying on a nubby woven placemat. The shiny surface of the green bottle against the deep maroon of the linen cloth provides a very pretty complimentary palette!
The metallic trim of the porcelain bowl ties in beautifully with the gold embossed print on the book bindings.
It's always fun to challenge myself to something new and different! I hope you like the painting!"
