    Tony Curtis (1925 - 2010)

Born Bernard Schwartz on June 3, 1925 in Bronx, NY, Tony Curtis greeted his 80th birthday in 2005 with a three-day celebration and retrospective of his films and art at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Mr. Curtis currently resides. In his honor, the Governor of Nevada issued a proclamation stating, "Mr. Curtis has devoted more than 50 years to his performing arts and fine art careers, and has been a supportive mentor, great humanitarian and excellent role model for his many fans, friends and associates."

The paintings of Tony Curtis are notable for their bright contrasting colors and flowing sensuous forms. They reflect the artist's warm and generous nature, and his unquenchable zest for life.

Tony Curtis is an acclaimed artist who has had many major one-man exhibitions of his paintings, assemblages and collages all over North America, Europe and Asia. (His London debut exhibition was so successful it sold out even before it opened to the public.) The artist's work is on display at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, OH, the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, The Toronto Museum, National Hungarian Museum, Harrods Department Store, The Mirage in Las Vegas and the Caitlyn Gallery in St. Louis. Other works are held in private collections around the world.
