Framed Dimensions: 13 x 16.75 in. Museum quality framing includes archival mounting and materials, solid wood frame with non-glare art glass (protects against 70% UV rays). Additional sizes available 1:4 scale. Prices vary based on size and float. UF3 glass with full 100% UV protection also available. Chad Fonfara worked as a carpenter and practicing wood sculptor during his early career, with aspects of these trades greatly influencing his mentality and approach to fine art. After receiving his MFA from Kansas State University in 2003, Fonfara accepted a position at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he had previously received his BFA, teaching glassblowing. Fonfara then began developing his hot sculpted glass works and more recently documenting them in a series of what he calls digital sketches, giclée prints of altered photographs of his sculptures. His compositions have featured the expressive and unique forms of red-winged blackbirds, hundreds of which fell from the sky dead where he lives in a bizarre and natural phenomenon. Fonfara’s work has been exhibited in many galleries from Nebraska, to Ohio, Michigan, Massachusetts, Southampton, NY and New York City, where his pieces have been shown at the Interior Design Building and the New York Design Center. |
