Description
Hand colored copper plate engraving on laid paper, plate No. 37. Vol #1 titled: “Cancer Chelis Rubis & Titanokeratophyton &c.” (The red clawed crab) from “The Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands” by Mark Catesby. Published in two volumes, London, in 1731 & 1743. On archival mount, framed under UV glass in a Hogarth style molding. Full margins and exceptional original color.
